the wonders of pilates

As runners, i think we (at least I) tend to be stiff. All that running is great for the body, but if I do not stretch enough, my hamstrings tighten up and I end up with a lot of back pain . I have found a secret, however!! During my non-running period, I began doing a lot of yoga and pilates and WOW what a difference it made once I started running again! I feel so much stronger in my stomach and back. I even notice if it has gone several days without doing the pilates workout...I start hunching over again and this hunching tricks me into thinking I am tired! So, what is my point you may ask after all of this late night babbling! Pilates, my dear, are a great compliment to running! Enough said. :-)
